Todays 1973 is of course the stand out show for the day.
But those of you who appreciate the 'latter day' Dead know what Im talking about with todays '91.
http://www.archive.org/details/gd91-03-31.sbd.perkins.9451.sbeok.shnf (the 3-23-75 Kezar is
tacked onto the end of this source also for some reason,
but Im not complaining)

The second set is off the charts, with a long intro to Eyes
that I think even Cliff would enjoy.

warning: dont try the GEMS/FOB to this one. For some
reason it really sucks. The keyboards are way up front,
theres NO Phil, and the rest is mud.

And the April Fools show tomorrow is of the same magnitude:

some really nice midi moments... a pleasurable Birdsong, and damn decent Darkstar(s). Enjoy!!

I was at these shows. A bit chilly in Carolina that early spring. Caught shows in Albany, Greensboro and Atlanta. Camped in a crappy tent and with not much gear.
I would like to thank the brothers from Washington whom provided the most electric giant fungi to really see the lights better.
As I recall the second night saw many casualties from the festivities "chilling" in the halls and rafters of the Coliseum.
Then came Lovelight (((((?)))))

My favorite thing about these wonderful shows is, as Jerry teased Dark Star repeatedly in the jam after Playin' in the Band on 03/31, Bob follows up the actual Dark Star on 04/01 with the Playin' reprise. Beautiful.

Absolutely one of the greatest EYES ever played--for ANY era....it's just beautiful, and perhaps overshadowed by the Branford gold standard of the year before.

I rarely venture anywhere past 1990, and with good reason, but I've played this version of EYES over and over because it's just that good.

For Eyes of similarly pace and magnitude, try 9-8-90's Eyes> Estimated> Terrapin and 3-20-91's Eyes> Foolish> Estimated
